LUKE CUNNINGHAM PIPING INSTRUCTOR
Luke was asked to assist the band with piping instruction on recommendation from Dave. His participation allowed the new students to work on the learning process in smaller groups. Luke had worked closely with Dave as a member of the Chicago Caledonian Pipe Band and had competed at the Grade 2 level in the Midwest Pipe Band Association.
Luke also generously donates his time and talents to help the band
PIPE MAJOR PAUL FOERTSCH
Paul was chosen by the bands executive board, on the recommendation of both piping instructors, to fill the position of Pipe Major. Paul had formerly been a member of the Stock Yard Kilty Band, but had taken time to raise his family. On hearing that the band was becoming a reality, he picked up the chanter and began working on his finger work. He quickly returned to a full set of pipes and diligently took on the task of learning the new bands repertoire. Paul has easily adapted to the position, utilizing his leadership experience as a Battalion Chief with the department.
RAY FINERON DRUM SERGEANT / DRUMMING INSTRUCTOR
When the bands original drumming instructor was unable to fulfill his offer, Ray quickly stepped up and took on the task of instructing the drumline. Ray had previously played side drum with the Stock Yard Kilty Band, had several years of marching band experience and was a percussion major in college. Ray has done a fantastic job of teaching our drummers. In addition to performing and instruction duties, Ray currently acts as band manager.
